Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Bangkok - Hua Hin    ( - / L / D )

An early start (around 7am) from your hotel in downtown Bangkok takes us south of Bangkok into the Samut Songkhram Province. The journey will take around one hour by an air condition van. Our first stop will be at the Mae Klong Railway Market. Upon arrival you will have time to be ready for the arrival of train at 08.30am. The market is considering the most amazing and unique attraction in the area. Set up directly alongside a railway track and is also called “life-risking” market because its stalls are attached to the Mae Klong Ban Laem railway. Vendors at the market put out parasols or canvas over the railway to protect themselves against the sun and visitors walk and do their shopping. When the signal of the arriving train rings, vendors rush to close their parasols and canvas along with clearing all goods so that the train can pass. As soon as the train passes parasols and canvas will be reopened, and business continues.

After this exciting experience you will continue to the enchanting Amphawa Market. This floating market is next to next to picturesque canal-side wooden homes, with abundant restaurants and coffee shops to sit and enjoy this idyllic scene. Enjoy the view of traditional Thai life along the waterway by long-tail boat. You are also able to purchase some fresh fruits or snacks directly from one of the vendors at their little floating shops.

We will disembark at Wat Bang Kung, an amazing Ayutthaya-era temple with a huge Banyan tree embracing the shrine with its roots. Within the temple, there is an old ordination hall which houses a large sculptured Buddha image commonly called by villagers as Luangpho Bot Noi. Mural paintings from the late Ayutthaya period depict Lord Buddha while he was sitting in the niche and preaching, flanked by the disciples in paying respect to him.

Afterwards, we head to Wat Pummarin Kudeethong, famous for its teakwood chapel and temple museum. The temple houses ruined chedi with a seated Buddha images and distinguished three-star-fruit shaped prangs, which is housing Buddha relics built of brick and bound with cement on a square shaped plinth in the Loop Buri style. The Buddha head is fascinating with 400 years of the Historical legend.
