Visit one of the impressive War Cemeteries, where many of allied soldiers were buried. Then visit the worldwide known ‘Bridge over River Kwai’. It was built in about 16 months, by allied prisoners of war and Asian conscripts. The bridge was afterwards destroyed during allied bombing raids, by the end of World War II. But it was later rebuilt by Japanese,
as war reparations.
