This fleet of traditional Thai rafts provide the perfect way to enjoy the smoothing motion of the river, the gorgeous countryside, and a sense of harmony with nature. Enjoy this back to basic experience without any electric, internet or phone. Below is our join in package with the option to upgrade.

Day 1: Bangkok – Kanchanaburi - River Kwai Noi     (- / L / D)

Get ready for your journey back to the nature.  Your pick up time is between 06.00 am -06.30 am from major hotels in Bangkok downtown via air-conditioned minivan. Depart to Kanchanaburi which is located around 128 km to the west of Bangkok.

Before we get to the River Kwai we will do a short stop at the Thailand–Burma Railway Centre in Kanchanaburi. The Thailand-Burma Railway Center is fully air-conditioned interactive museum, research and information facility and dedicated to hold the history of the Thailand–Burma Railway and gives you an educational and moving experience.  We will visit the nearby Allied War Cemetery, where more than 6,000 Allied Prisoners of War (PoWs) found their final resting-place.  Our next stop is the world-famous River Kwai Bridge a part of theDeath Railway constructed by Allied Prisoners of War (PoWs).

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant

Now it is time to leave Kanchanaburi behind us and driving to the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre to reach our next stop in history.  Visit the Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum which is dedicated to all Asian laborers and Allied Prisoners of War (PoWs), who suffered and died at Hellfire Pass. The museum presents the history of the Burma-Thailand railway under chronological and thematic headings, explaining the rationale for the railway, the way in which it was constructed. It also shows the hardship experienced by those who worked on it.It is time to take a hike along the Hellfire Pass Walking Trails before taking a long-tailed boat and cruise along the River Kwai to your Raft Resort.  Check in and enjoy the peace of the river in your hammock in front of your room and what the night coming down to delta.  Our staff will light the oil lamps.

Dinner will be served at the raft restaurant follow by a 45-minute traditional Mon Dance presentation.  Dim your oil lamp, listen to the river and have a great first night in the heart of the jungle.

Day 2:   River Kwai Noi - Mon Tribal Village – Mon Chat   (B / L / D )

After breakfast at your resort we will head to the nearby Mon Tribal Village. The Mon Villages have lived here for generations. Visit the Gold Rock, the Buddha image cave, and the village school.  Let’s learn more about the Villages and their traditional life around the River Kwai. Talk / chart with these original Mon people about their concerning, history, religion, culture, and dances. Experience how to wear the “Sa-rong” Mon costume and how to play “Saba” a traditional Mon game. Learn how to make Tanaka powder from the wood and bark of the Tanaka tree. Used within the Mon (as well as in Myanmar) extensively as a natural cosmetic, sunscreen, skin treatment and insect repellent.

Returned to the Raft Resort, enjoy your lunch.

After Lunch you have the opportunity to choose between two amazing activities:

Option 1) Bamboo rafting. The raft is totally homemade and in real life, local people traveled by raft instead of boat. Come and experience the way the locals do it. It is a relaxing rafting with 2 staff who are doing the paddling for you. Just sit back and enjoy the greenery and remarkable scenery. The trip takes around 1 hrs

Option 2) Canoe. Paddle downstream and enjoy lush of tropical forest. If you want to challenge yourself try to paddle upstream. This activity gives you a good exercise and a lot of fun.  Arriving at our sister hotel and return by boat transfer.

The rest of the afternoon is free of leisure. Relax in paradise, lay down on your room balcony and listening to the river’s whisper or maybe try the famous “River Jump”, all you need to enjoy is put on a life jacket and jump into the river. You will be floating along the hotel in the Kwai river. The beautiful scenery surrounded will look even more remarkable when you view it from the water.

Day 3:   River Kwai Noi  - Death Railway - Bangkok   (B / L / - )

Get up early in the morning and watch the elephant coming along with its mahouts for their morning bath. Or stay for a longer nap in your bungalow and take it easy. Enjoy your breakfast and be ready for the 11.00 am check out.

We will departure the river valley for a tasty lunch at a local restaurant on our way to our next stop.  From here we will take a historic ride on the famous Death Railway Train passing over original wooden viaduct constructed by Allied Prisoners of War (POWs). Arriving at the last station we will change to an air-conditioned van for last part of our tour. We meant arriving Bangkok downtown around 06.00 PM, however, under some unpredictable traffic circumstances; we could take somewhat longer hours to get back Bangkok.

Day 2:   River Kwai Noi – Sai Yoke Yai National Park - Waterfall and Lawa cave ( B / L / D )

After breakfast at your resort, take a long-tailed boat upstream to visit Sai Yoke Yai Waterfall & National Park. The Sai Yok Yai Waterfall flows into the river and it is famed for its beautiful environs. The fall is very impressive during the rainy season as the waterfall is extremely forceful and rapid. 

Return to your floating resort for lunch before we heading to the famous Lawa Cave.  The Lawa Cave is one of the caves with breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites. It was formed by rain containing carbon dioxide which fell to the ground and became water with carbonic acid. It then eroded underground limestone and formed connecting holes in it. When groundwater level decreased, the cave appeared.

Return to the raft resort, dinner and overnight on the raft

Day 3:   River Kwai Noi  - Mon Tribal Village - Death Railway - Bangkok   (B / L / - )

After breakfast, head into the nearby Mon tribal Village, (see day 2 before). Visit the Golden Rock, the Buddha Image Cave and the Village school. Take a short walk on easy jungle trail along the riverbank to get to the stunning viewpoint of the Ricer Kwai. Return to the raft and be ready for the 11.00 am check out

Transfers

  • The transfer from Bangkok to the resort is operating on join/ seat-in-coach basis with an English-speaking guide only. Depending on the number of guests on any confirmed tours, the correct type of car/ van / coach cannot be confirmed at your reservation.
  • Transfers are only operated within Sukhumvit (Soi 1 - 33), Silom, Pratunam areas and restricted to main hotels only
  • Regions outside the central business district such as Khao San Road, Rattanakosin, Nonthaburi, Thonburi, Minburi, both International Airports, Ratchadapisek and upper Sukhumvit (Soi 33 and further) are excluded and supplementary charges apply

*Travel- & Medical Insurance

Travel Insurance including medical repatriation insurance is mandatory on all our trips. Therefore, we strongly recommend to our guests to make sure to purchase suitable insurance package, which covers all kind of traveling problems, such as lost of luggage, any kind of cancellation of airlines or tours…….. for the value for all the length of your trip.  All our tours are including local accident insurance via the operator, but they are most of the time not European standard. Make sure that it covers all the activities that you are likely to undertake, such as rafting, scuba diving, cycling, cruises, trekking etc.  Many ‘free’ insurances that come with banking packages, credit cards etc., are quite inadequate to cover you, so make sure you check the policy before your travel. You are required to give a copy of your insurance policy to your tour leader upon arrival. Without proper insurance like this, we will not be allowed to join the tour as we will not able to respond adequately in case an emergency if you do not have the right insurance.
