The Mergui or Myeik Islands are a group of hundreds of smaller and bigger green jewels in the Andaman Sea. Considered one of Southeast Asia’s most beautiful destinations. The beaches sheer beauty is simply overwhelming. With the crystal clear water, immaculate white sands and the rainforest right behind them make the perfect cliché picture for holiday dreams.

Itinerary

Day One: Kawthaung – Taung La Bo island – Poni Island – Island 115      (- / L / D )

Your journey around the unspoiled Mergui Archipelago started either in Kawthaung or Ranong. Transfer from the airport or hotel in Kawthaung as well as from Ranong are included in our Package.   The boat will departure at 10.00 am in the morning, so the transfers will start quite early from Ranong. You will be greeting from our guide who will escort you to the pier in Kawthaung. Meet the other traveler and get the first glimpse of the bustling border town of Kawthaung before the time is ready to get on board of our unique vessel your home for the next 3 nights.

Onboard you will get a detailed briefing of the boat and what to expect over the next few days. Our tour leader will show you your gazebo for the night, so you can get set and ready for the journey to our first stop at Taung La Bo Island for a quick stop over. Take a plunge into the turquoise sea and just enjoy life.

Lunch will be served on board while we continue our cruise to Poni Island for our first snorkeling stop. We will continue our cruise further north to Island 115 with its amazing beaches, time to do some kayaking around the island. 

Enjoy your first of more to come stunning sunset at the Archipelago, sip a cocktail or a glass of wine and just relax on the sunset until dinner will be served on board.

Day Two:   Island 115 – Shark Island – Great Swinton Island    (B  / L / D )

Wake up with the birds and enjoy your first sunrise over the island, take an early morning swim before your breakfast before we heading to Shark Island. The island got his name because of it’s shape.  Shark Island is a great spot to do some more snorkeling and swimming. Next to Shark Island is Great Swinton Island which we will visit right after lunch.  Time to so some more swimming, snorkeling or even join a short dingy ride to the beach for some exploration. We will spend the night at the bay. Dinner will be served on board

Day Three:  Great Swinton Island  – Moken Village, Jar Iann Kyunn – Bawei Island  – Nga Khin Nyo Gyee Island    (B  / L / D )

For those are early birds, enjoy another sunrise and swim before having breakfast and cruising to Jar Iann Island. Time to visit this Fishing and Sea Gipsy Village. Stroll through the little street and visit the for Myanmar people important monastery on the hill. 

Time to say bye bye to the people and get back on board, enjoy your lunch while cruising to Boulder Island. On the way we will do a short stop over at Bawei Island for some more water activities, did you try the stand up paddle board already?

Late after noon we will arrive Boulder Island and will put the boat on the mooring at Boulder Bay. We will do a short visit on the island before the night comes down . You will spend your last night on the boat, time to say by to other traveler which cruising back to Kawthaung the next day and the crew.

Day Four:    Nga Khin Nyo Gyee Island (Resort)                (B  / L / D )      ( Info about the island)

After breakfast pack your bag and get ready to move to your bungalow at the beach for the next 3 nights. Our Resort Manager will welcome you and give you a short briefing of the island and activities. Check in to your Superior Bungalow directly at the beach front.

Different as on the boat the guide on the island will welcome you and discuss with, you’re your activities for the next days. Boulder Island has soo much to offer.  Just tell our guide what your favored activities are and he will create with you’re a plan for the next days.  Lunch and dinner will be set at the Main building of the resort.

Day Six:  Nga Khin Nyo Gyee Island (Resort)                (B  / L / D )

Today you have a full day on the island, time for many activities or just relaxing on your porch of your bungalow or on the beach.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are served in the main building. Timing and menu will be posted every day on the board at the main building. If you have any special request just talk to the Manager, the whole team will make sure that you have a great time.

Day seven - Nga Khin Nyo Gyee Island / Kawthaung     (B  / - / - )

Today is a very early wake up call. Have a coffee at the main building while our staff will bring your luggage to the boat. We will be leaving the island around 6 am so we can reach Kawthaung by noon.

Breakfast will be served on board

Arriving at Kawthaung, depending on your further travel plan the crew in Kawthaung will organize your transfer either to your hotel / airport in Kawthaung or Ranong.

Remarks: The itinerary can be adjusted depending on the flight arrival and departure times.  The itinerary can be changed within the group. Our tour leader will adjust the itinerary depending on the group’s needs.

Note: Schedule and Itinerary depends on the weather conditions and the discretion of the Cruise Director and Captain and depends on currents, dive sites activities, light, objective, sailing times etc. The spots are usually possible, but not always guaranteed.

  • Round Land transfer - airport Kawthaung/ Myanmar or Ranong/Thailand - pier Kawthaung
  • Accommodation onboard of our vessel (Double bed only)
  • Accommodation on the island in superior Bungalow at the ocean front (Sea View) (double occupancy)
  • Full board while on board & on the island (3 meals).  Lunch and dinner with minimum 3-4 dishes per meal

  • Alcoholic Beverages and Soft drinks (available on board and on the island to purchases) (Please note that we will charge a corkage fee for brought drinks (1 US$ per beer can and 10US$ per bottle of wine or any alcoholic spirit) and soft drinks
  • Scuba Diving (only for certify divers available on the island, payable directly on the island)
  • Expenditures of personal nature, such as, tip for crew and resort staff etc.

* Myanmar Visa:
For both Myanmar and Thailand a passport valid for at least six months is required. Please be advised that agents or passengers are required to obtain all the necessary visas for the county to be visited. Please apply for a online Myanmar Tourist Visa (https://evisa.moip.gov.mm/index.aspx) before you arrive in Kawthaung when you enter Myanmar via Ranong.  The Visa on Arrival (Tourist) will be issued only to those arriving by air through the Entry points of Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw International airports.

** Mergui Archipelago Royalty Fee
Total (payable on board) US$ 100 per person. The above Fee is set by the Myanmar Government and is subject to change without notice. For the 7 days / 6 nights cruise over  New Year the fee will increase to 140 US$ per person.

*** Travel Insurance

Including medical repatriation insurance is mandatory on all our trips. It is not included with our packages and it is your responsibility to purchase suitable insurance package. Make sure that it covers all the activities that you are likely to undertake, such as rafting, scuba diving, cycling, cruises, trekking etc.  Many ‘free’ insurances that come with banking packages, credit cards etc., are quite inadequate to cover you our tours, so make sure you check the policy before your travel. You are required to give a copy of your insurance policy to your tour leader upon arrival. Without proper insurance like this, we will not be allowed to join the tour as we will not able to respond adequately in case an emergency if you do not have the right insurance. Please also contact your doctor for further preparations regarding to your chosen travel destination including immunizations.
