Itinerary for the southern cruise only available from 19th until 24th of November 2020 Learn more about the islands of the Mergui Archipelago
Day 1 Kawthaung – Zar Bet Kyee Kyunn Island (S. Matthew’s Island) ( - / L / D )
Meeting point is the multipurpose pier in Ranong between 10.30-11.00. Around 11.00 - 11.30 am embarkof our Motorvessel for your adventure within the Mergui Archipelago. She will be in Kawthaung around 12.00-12.30 )all timing will be deending on the immigration officers in both countries). While checking in on board your Cruise Director will complete all formalities with the Thai Immigration so the boat is ready to leave for a short cruise over the river to Kawthaung / Myanmar. Lunch will served on board, once the team cleared all the paperwork with the Myanmar Immigration the adventure starts and we are on our way to our first stop at St. Matthew’s Island, one of the largest island in the southern part of the Mergui Archipelago. During the cruise listen to a short introduction about this amazing area and some of the special islands we will be snorkeling during the trip. After a briefing and instructions on snorkel equipment it is time to hit the water and get our first impressions of the fantastic underwater world of the Mergui Archipelago in a small bay to the east of St. Matthew’s Island. Back on board enjoy all comfort of the boat with a cool beer, cocktail or a glass wine on the sun deck. Dinner will be served on board – overnight in the bay of St. Matthew’s Island
Day 2 S. Matthew’s Island ( B / L / D )
Breakfast is served on board while we cruising along the spectacular coast of St. Matthew's Island to a small, secluded sandy beach. Time for some more snorkeling (approximately 1 hour) before we continue cruises into St. Matthew’s South Bay. Lunch will be served onboard. After Lunch it is time to explore South Bay’s reef by snorkel for the next hours. The next snorkel stop will be made at West Bay, an impressively huge bay on the West side of St. Matthew's Island. Here we will discover untouched coral reefs with large fan corals, and countless colorful fish as well as uninhabited, lonely snow-white sandy beaches. Back on board enjoy the sunset on deck. Dinner will be served on board – overnight at the West Bay of St. Matthew’s Island.
Day 3 S. Matthew’s Island – Davis Island (Tharn Kyunn Island) ( B / L / D )
Enjoy your breakfast on board. We will stay in West Bay for the morning to do two more exciting snorkel stops as well as a visit on of the pristine beaches. Back on the boat we will lunch while cruising southwest to our next destination, Davis Island. Here we will do our third snorkeling stop for the day and another visit of the one of Myanmar’s amazing beaches. Dinner on board will the boat will stay overnight at Davis Island. Time for another Mergui Sunset with some cool drinks while recounting the experience we have shared so fare.
Day 4 (Davis Island) - Cock's Comb (Emerald Heart of Myanmar) – Cave at Nga Man Gu Kyunn –Horse Shoe Island (Myin Khwar Island) ( B / L / D )
Breakfast is served whilst we will cruise to Cock’s Comb, also called Emerald Heart, an island that resembles a great rock rising vertically out of the water. On the south-west side is an entrance, only visible at low tide that leads to a hidden lagoon within the island. Snorkel along the outer rocky wall and discover the beautiful soft corals in the crystal clear waters whilst making your way to the lagoon entrance. In the shallow waters of the ‘grotto’ like at the entrance various types of soft corals and fan corals, as well as juvenile black-tip reef sharks, in the midst of innumerable tropical fish. Once inside, you will find yourself in a large, heart-shaped lagoon with steep limestone walls that tower straight up into the sky. The island takes its name from the shape and green waters of the lagoon and is a truly stunning sight. After lunch you will cruise to the most westerly point of our Mergui Archipelago expedition for another one hour snorkeling stop at, the cave on Nga Man Gu Kyunn Island which oiur captain also called: 'Shark Cave'. Do not let the name worry you; Shark Cave is just a rock formation west of St. Matthew’s Island and is characterized by it’s excellent diversity of fish life found here. As well as countless fish of all sizes there are also huge fan corals in various colors. Afterwards we will continue on to Myin Khwar Island also called Horseshoe Island, where we will anchor for the night. Dinner will serve on board and time to relax and socialize with fellow travelers on board.
Day 5 Horse Shoe Island (Myin Khwar Island) - Shar Kyunn Island - Kawthaung ( B / L / D )
After breakfast we will stay around Horseshoe Island for some more relaxing time on the beach, swimming or just sunbathing in a small bay with a snow-white sandy beach amidst high limestone rocky cliffs. The island has an idyllic, almost dreamy feeling about it and boasts fabulous flora and fauna. Lunch will serve on board while cruising to our final snorkeling stop on this trip before getting back to Kawthaung. After dinner take the opportunity to experience the hustle and bustle of the small border town Kawthaung, the southern tip of Myanmar. Overnight on board in Kawthaung.
Day 6 Kawthaung / Ranong/Thailand ( B / L / - )
Breakfast on board. Whilst Myanmar Immigration complete the formalities for our departure there is time to further explore Kawthaung with it’s shops, local markets and temples. Return on board we will cross the river to Ranong in Thailand. Enjoy the kitchen crew serve a last delicious Thai lunch while local Thai Immigration process all the paperwork to check back into Thailand. After lunch it is time to say goodbye to your swimming home for the last 5 nights.
Check out in Kawthaung as you wish but not later than 10.00 am. We will be return to Ranong around 11.00 am. Transfer via air conditioned Mini Van can be organized from the harbor back to Ranong, Khao Lak and Phuket.
Itinerary for the northern cruise - only available from 28th of Jan 2021 until the 2nd of Feb 2021 or from 25t of Feb 2021 until 2nd of March 2021
Day 1 Ranong / Kawthaung – 115 Island ( - / L / D )
09.30 am embark the vessel for your adventure within the Mergui Archipelago in Ranong. around 10.30 in Kawthaung. While checking in on board your Cruise Director will complete all formalities with the Thai Immigration so the boat is ready to leave for a short cruise over the river to Kawthaung / Myanmar. Lunch will served on board, once the team cleared all the paperwork with the Myanmar Immigration the adventure starts and we are on our way to our first stop at the 115 Island Group. The journey will takes around 6 hours passing by breathtaking island landscapes, spectacular bays and lagoons of the Mergui Archipelago. A perfect time to meet your fellow traveler, join the sun deck with a nice cool drink. Dinner will be served on board – overnight at 115 Island
Day 2 115 Island – Pony Island – Lampi Marine Nationalpark ( B / L / D )
Breakfast is served listen to a short introduction about this amazing area and some of the special islands we will be snorkeling during the trip. And after a briefing and instructions on snorkel equipment it is time to hit the water and get your first impressions of the fantastic underwater world of the Mergui Archipelago. The 115 Island Group has some beautiful sandy beaches which invite you to linger here for longer. After lunch we will cruise to Pony Island for our next snorkel stop. The northern part of the reef at Pony Island has countless coral species and fish of all sizes and shapes, a real highlight for the avid snorkeler. Snorkeling here may extend to 90 minutes. Afterwards we will cruise for approximately 3.5 hours to Lampi Island, the largest islands in the northern part of our Mergui Archipelago trip and the only National Park in the area. We will anchor between Lampi Island and Kubo Island which lies in the flight path of Great Hornbill birds. With a little luck we might be able to observe some of these rare birds. Around the corner is a small Moken Village (Sea Gipsy Village) which can be optional visit. Dinner will be served on board while listen to the sound of the hornbills in the jungle.
Day 3 Lampi Island – Nine Pin Island – Great Swinton (Kyunn Phi Lar) ( B / L / D )
Breakfast will be served whilst we move to the western point of Lampi Island. Here you will find a completely untouched underwater scene with one of the most beautiful reefs we have ever snorkeled. There are Soft corals, hard corals and stag horn corals in an indescribable splendor of different hues and colors in the crystal clear shallow waters. Our snorkel stop here is for approximately 90 minutes before we cruise for around 45 minutes to our next destination, Nine Pin Island. This little island is located on the eastern side of Lampi Island. You will spend here another 90 minutes for snorkeling, amongst the impressive flora and fauna found in the turquoise, shallow waters. Weighing anchor we then cruise on to Great Swinton Island. Dinner is served on board during our cruise to Great Swinton Island. Spend some time to relax and socialize with fellow guests on board.
Day 4 Great Swinton (Kyunn Phi Lar) ( B / L / D )
Breakfast is served on board before you explore the southern length of Great Swinton Island. We will stay the day so you have a lot of time to explore the different reefs. The highlight of the day is White Rock, a small limestone rock formation with beautiful corals and plenty of colorful fish life. Opposite Great Swinton is a beautiful uninhabited island which begs for further exploration. A small freshwater waterfall, which is surprisingly cold, flows directly into the sea and provides welcomed refreshment during the hot afternoon. Later afternoon we will more to Long Beach, the large bay to the east of Great Swinton Island. Whilst the chef prepares dinner you can take the opportunity to visit a small fishing village. Though small the village boasts an impressive temple complex and the small houses and shops offer a rare insight into the daily lives of the islanders. Dinner will be served on board and we will remain anchored in the bay so you can enjoy a cozy evening with cool drinks recounting the experiences we have shared so far.
Day 5 Great Swinton (Kyunn Phi Lar) – Nga Mann Island - Kawthaung ( B / L / D )
Breakfast is served on board whilst the boat will returns to the south of Great Swinton Island. Our first snorkel spot is at a beautiful, untouched coral reef where you can encounter lionfish, boxfish and many more exotic species of tropical fish. After approx. 90 minutes snorkeling we will cruise to Nga Mann Island for our final snorkel spot of the day and for the tour. Nga Mann Island is a small uninhabited island with a kilometer long, snowy-white sandy beach and a small fringing reef. This is a true paradise that will make you feel like Robinson Crusoe. Around noon we have to start our journey back to Kawthaung so we able to arrive early evening. After dinner on board let’s head ashore to experience the hustle and bustle of the city's small harbor town by night. Overnight on board at Kawthaung.
Day 6 Kawthaung / Ranong/Thailand ( B / L / - )
Breakfast on board. Whilst Myanmar Immigration complete the formalities for our departure there is time to further explore Kawthaung with it’s shops, local markets and temples. Return on board MV Sawan will cross the river to Ranong in Thailand. Enjoy the kitchen crew serve a last delicious Thai lunch while local Thai Immigration process all the paperwork to check back into Thailand. After lunch it is time to say goodbye to your swimming home for the last 5 nights.
Transfer via air conditioned Mini Van can be organized from the harbor back to Ranong, Khao Lak and Phuket.

The Master Cabin is located in the bow (front) of the boat, its more spacious and has a large double bed. The surcharge is 2.200 THB per person by double occupancy), please check availability in advanced as we have only one Mastercabin available

Travel Insurance including medical repatriation insurance is mandatory on all our trips. Therefore, we strongly recommend to our guests to make sure to purchase a suitable insurance package, which covers all kind of traveling problems, such as lost of luggage, any kind of cancellation of airlines or tours…….. for the value for all the length of your trip.
