Discover the Southern Islands with it’s amazing Hin Daeng and Hin Muang Rock as well as the famous Similan Islands and dive around Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon and Ko Tachai on board of MV Giamani during this extended 7 days safari.

Explore the island such as Phi Phi, Bida, Ha and dive the famous Similan Island by traveling on board of MV Giamani from the fare south up through the 9 islands of the Similan Archipelagos incl. Koh Bon, Koh Tachai and not to forget Richelieu Rock.

There is always time extra around the Similan Islands and we recommend to visit the islands whenever possible between the dives. Discover the Princess Bay on Ko Miang, Ao Guerk on Koh Similan and the spectacular North Beach on Koh Tachai.

Itinerary:

Day 1: departure day – every Friday

  • Around 17.30 - 18.30 hrs (05.30 – 06.30 pm) pick up guests from hotels or airport around Phuket and Phuket Airport. Transfer to the pier in Chalong.
  • Around 19.00 - 20.00 hrs (07.00 - 08.00 pm) When all the guests boarding

MV Giamani. Listen to a welcome briefing and meet your crew. Departure for Ko Haa while enjoing your first dinner onboard around 20.00 hrs (08.00 pm)

Day 2: Ko Haa / Hin Daeng / Hin Muang
Wake up at the morning early for your all inclusive dive and safety briefing. Start your southern island experience with a check out dive at the beautiful islands of Ko Haa followed by two dives around the underwater mountains of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang. We leave the afternoon quite open to be flexible for your last dive. Depending on the weather and sea condition and the number of 'big fish' will determine your last dive for the day.  Either we stay around Hin Daeng / Hin Muang or cruising back to Ko Haa for either a sunset or night dive.  After the last dive MV Giamani will do a short cruise to Phi Phi Island while you have dinner with an overnight stay at one of the secluded bays. Enjoy your evening by relaxing, watching a movie or read a book. It is also time to fill your logbook or simply have a few beers and enjoy the company of your fellow divers. (total of 4 dives)

Day 3: Phi Phi Island
You will begin your final day on board of MV Giamani do either two dives at Koh Bida Nok or Koh Bida Nai at the south end of the Phi Phi Island chain. Cruise slowly towards Phuket with a dive stop at the famous dive site of Shark Point with its glorious soft coral encrusted. Your last dive will be at Koh Doc Mai a huge rock which walls are covered underwater with beautiful macro. After the final dive around the southern part of the Andaman Sea MV Giamani will cruising back to Phuket. We arrive in Phuket at Chalong Day around.  While some of the guests will leave us you will have time to chill out on the boat or you take the time to explore Chalong Bay. We will departure from Chalong around 20.00 when all the new guests arrived. Departure to Similan Island overnight.

Day 4: Similan Islands
Wake up at the morning early for your all inclusive dive and safety briefing. Start your northern Andaman Sea experience with your first dive at Anita’s Reef (Similan Island No 5 – Kho Ha), it’s a nice and easy drift dive and perfect to start the trip. After breakfast you have time for a little nap before we go for our second dive at West of Eden (Similan Island No 7 – Koh Pabu). Dive number 4 on the first day will be after lunch at the Giant boulder site of Elephant Head Rock (Hin Pusa), before you get back on board for some afternoon snacks. Visit late afternoon Koh Similan to explore and enjoy the beach and the famous view point. Dive Number four will be a night dive at Donald Duck Bay (Ao Guerk).  Enjoy your evening on board in one of the secured bays, relax, watch a movie, reading a book or just enjoy the company with your dive buddies. (Total 4 dives)

Day 5: Koh Bon, Koh Tachai
We will cruise very early to Koh Bon and your will do two dive of the day on Koh Bon Pinnacle and Koh Bon West Ridge, keep fingers tighly crossed for Manta Ray's. For the third dive of the day we will move further north to Koh Tachai to the dive site Koh Tachai Pinnacle with and hopefully other chance to meet some Mantas. On Koh Tachai we have another chance for a beach visit followed by a sunset dive on either the eastern or western reef of Ko Tachai depending on the prevailing wind.  Dinner and overnight on board (Total 4 dives)

Day 6: Koh Tachai - Richelieu Rock
Today we will another dive at Koh Tachai Pinnacle with a dive which allows you to go to some deeper areas as the day before. After this we will cruise to the Jewel of the area - Richelieu Rock. We will do two day dives here as well as a sunset dive unless the weather/sea conditions is poor, in which case we will make a late night dive at ‘Boonsung Wreck Dinner and overnight on board (Total 4 dives)

Day 7:  “The Teak Wreck” – “Naiyak Wreck”
After an early start to your will do one dives on a rarely dived wreck “The Teak Wreck” (MV Sea Chart) which is a steel haulage vessel that sank in August 2009 carrying 1,200 logs of Burmese Teak.  The last dive for this trip will be on the Naiyak Wreck (“Condreco”) a lovely macro life site close out the diving. Once everyone is back onboard we start the gentle cruise back to Chalong Bay allowing enough time to clean and even dry your dive gear, pack your bags, fill in your log books swap e-mails and even do some more hard core relaxing on the sun deck.
Disembarkation at Chalong Bay in Phuket usually around 17.00 hrs (05.00 pm) and continue with a transfer to your hotel. (Total of 2 dives)

Note: Schedule and Itinerary depending on the weather conditions and the discretion of the Cruise Director and Captain and depends on currents, dive sites activities, light, objective, sailing times etc. The spots are possible, but not guaranteed.

Transfers to and from MV Giamani within Phuket Island, full board accommodation(based on twinor double sharing), all meals served onboard including snacks, softdrinks, drinking water, tea, towels, dinghy for onshore exploration and pick ups, tanks, weights and weight belts, professional Tour leader, Divemaster and Instructor, torch for the night dive,

Prices not included:
Any international or domestic airfare, National Marine Park fee* (payable on board),  rental diving equipment, Nitrox, PADI / SSI Diving courses, alcoholic beverages, Tip, diving insurance and/or travel insurance (see below note)

Please book in advance if you need to rent a diving computer or underwater camera.

* Southern Island Marine National Park Fees
Normally there are no payments apply. Just keep in mind that these dive destinations belong to a Marine National Park. Therefore at can be happen that Park Rangers are coming along the vessel to collect Marine National park fee.

Fees are: 500 Baht for entry fee (divers and non-divers) plus 200 Baht per diver per day

* Similan & Surin National Park Fees

  • 500 Baht for entry into the Similans or Surin (divers and non-divers) plus...
  • 200 Baht per diver per day

Example for above trip:  
Entry fee for Similan 500 THB + Surin 500 THB = 1.000 THB
Diving Fee for 3 days in the Park: 3 x 200 THB = 600 THB
Total (payable on board) 1.600 THB

Travel- & Medical Insurance

Travel Insurance including medical repatriation insurance is mandatory on all our trips. Therefore, we strongly recommend to our guests to make sure to purchase suitable insurance package, which covers all kind of traveling problems, such as lost of luggage, any kind of cancellation of airlines or tours…….. for the value for all the length of your trip.  All our tours are including local accident insurance via the operator, but they are most of the time not European standard. Make sure that it covers all the activities that you are likely to undertake, such as rafting, scuba diving, cycling, cruises, trekking etc.  Many ‘free’ insurances that come with banking packages, credit cards etc., are quite inadequate to cover you, so make sure you check the policy before your travel. You are required to give a copy of your insurance policy to your tour leader upon arrival. Without proper insurance like this, we will not be allowed to join the tour as we will not able to respond adequately in case an emergency if you do not have the right insurance. Please also contact your doctor for further preparations regarding to your chosen travel destination including immunizations.
