Putrajaya - "Intelligent Garden City"
A spectacular new city, approximately 20km south of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya is the futuristic administrate capital of the nation and plays host to many government and business facilities. Hailed as an 'Intelligent Garden City', this model township is a proud symbol of Malaysia's aspiration to be a developed nation.

The goverment was moved from Kuala Lumpur in 1999 to Putrajaya due to the overcrowding areas in Kuala Lumpur.
Putrajaya became Malaysia's third Federal Territory after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan.
Lush greenery, botanical gardens and parks are spread across landscapes enhanced by large bodies of water and wetlands.
The facial point here is Putra Square, the stately Prime Minister's Office and the aesthetically-pleasing Putrajaya Mosque.
Another impressive feature is the uniquely designed bridges that span the various points of the sprawling Putrajaya Lake.

Perdana Putra Complex - Prime Minister's Office
Perdana Putra overlooks the Putrajaya Lake, Putra Mosque and Dataran Putra. The six-story natural stone clad office complex comprises the Prime Minister's office, the offices of the Deputy Prime Minister and Chief Secretary to the Government. The building's design incorporates elements of Islamic-Mogul architecture, with a green-pitched roof that converges at the onion-shaped glazed mosaic main dome; a replica of Masjid Zahir in Alor Setar, Kedah - surrounding by four smaller domes denoting the Malay and Islamic heritage of the nation.
Putra Mosque
Facing the scenic Putrajaya Lake, the Putra Mosque is arguably the city's most distinctive landmark and one of the most modern mosques in the world. A showcase of how mosque designs have evolved in Malaysia, Putra Mosque's Islamic architecture artistically blends traditional designs, local craftsmanship and the use of indigenous materials.
The mosque is modeled after Persian Islamic architecture of the Safavid period, with elements derived from other Muslim cultures.
Dataran Putra
A ceremonial tree-lined centerpiece of Putrajaya, Dataran Putra is 300 meters in diameter and adorned with local motifs, water and light features. Its design has an outer 11-point star representing the 11 states that formed our nation when Malaysia first gained her independence, an inner 13-point star symbolizing the thirteen states of today, while the inner -most 14 point star represents the Malaysia states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
Putrajaya Lake
At the heart of Putrajaya is the Putrajaya Wetlands with a natural landscape dominated by the Putrajaya Lake. The lake and wetlands are but two of the city's more distinctive features. The 650 hectare Putrajaya Lake is designed to act as a natural cooling system for the city. Recreational activities including fishing, water sports and water transportation.
Putrajaya Bridge
The Putrajaya Bridge spans 435 meters, is one of the main bridges in Putrajaya and is connecting the Government Precinct at its north and the Mixed Development Precinct at its south, while linking Dataran Putra with the Boulevard.
Architecturally, it bears a similar resemblance to the Khalu Bridge in Isfahan, Iran. The bridge is a combination of cable backstays and structural steel tie back.
Botanical Gardens - Taman Botani
Located at the northern section of Precinct 1, the gardens are designed as an actinium or a national sanctuary for Malaysian plant taxonomy, as well as a center for education and research.
The garden is divided into 5 different themes as the Explorer's Trail, Palm Hill, Floral Gardens, Sun Garden and the Lakeside.
Putra Perdana Park - Taman Putra Perdana
Located at the highest point around Putrajaya. The park is spread over 70 hectares and surrounded by Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.
Among the many attractions here at the park include the Putrajaya Landmark "Mercu Tanda" which symbolizes the beginning of the city with its time capsule structure and the Perdana Mal which comprises pedestrian walkways linking the Landmark and Entrance Plaza to Cascade Place, Fragrant Gardens, gazebos and pergolas.
Parks & Gardens
Parks and gardens feature prominently in this Intelligent Garden City. One of them is the splendid Botanical Gardens at the northern entrance of the Government Precinct. In addition, the 62, 4-hectare Taman Putra Perdana acts as the urban green lung while the Perdana Walk, a linear park, links Persiaran Perdana with Dataran Putra. Taman Rimba Alam and Taman Jati are designed as sustainable recreational forest parks with nature trails, cycling paths and camping sites. Cyberjaya
Located 40 km south of the city, Cyberjaya is one of the country's most ambitiously conceived communities. Functioning as the nerve center for Malaysia's hi-tech development, Cyberjaya provides an environment unlike most other planned communities, with equal emphasis on environmental impact/ aesthetic beauty and advanced technology.
