Kuantan - 'The capital of Pahang'
The state capital of Pahang is Kuantan, the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia. It is situated near the mouth of the Kuantan River and faces the South China Sea and roughly halfway between Singapore and Kota Bharu and the gateway to an adventurous, thrilling and exhilarating tropical holiday..

Although Kuantan has grown into a bustling modern town in line with the rapid development of Malaysia, it still retains its delightful cultures, traditions and values, making it a modern yet traditional town.




Kuantan's Highlight's:
The State Mosque a prominent landmark in the middle of the town with its distinctive dome and minarets in a pastel shade of sky blue and mint green stands regal.
Mahkota Parade and Teruntum Complex a stark architectural contrast at Jalan Mahkota a modern shopping and office complexes.
Old Kuantan, savour the obvious pungent aroma of salted fish and squids and keropok (fish crackers), the state's famous delicacy. Across the river find eating stalls famous for their "ikan bakar" (roasted fish).
Heroes' Museum showcases the deeds of the heroes of Pahang - gallantry, religion, education, politics, sports, literatures etc.
Agriculture Park Indera Mahkota, showcase the country's heritage of natural and agricultural richness and diversity, the park serves as an experimental station and development center for the agricultural industry and consists of fruit orchards, arboretum, spice fields, recreational park, campsites, exposition concourse, protected forest and experimental station.
Kuantan River with picturesque landscape of a 500-year mangrove forest reserve that spreads along the Kuantan River. The swamp which covers an area of 340 hectares, is home to a fascinating varieties of estuarine plants, birds and fish species.
Teluk Chempedak Beach, a popular bathing beach and another prominent landmark in Kuantan enjoy in a variety of water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, jet skiing or just simple take it easy and stroll around, enjoying the cool breeze and meeting friendly locals.
Tanjung Pelindung - During World War II Japanese troops landed at Teluk Tongkang in Kuantan and the frightened villagers fled their homes taking refuge in a hidden jungle. The locals called this boulder-strewn shady beach, Tanjung Pelindung.
Pahang Buddhist Association Temple is located just outside Kuantan town on the Kuantan-Sungai Lembing road. It has a large statue of the Buddha and a park with a pond, fish and tortoises at the rear.

Berkelah Falls (the Ninth Mile Waterfall) near the Kuantan airbase of the Royal Malaysian Air Force located in the Hutan Lipur Sungai Pandan (Pandan River Forest Reserve).
