Kelantan - State of Handicraft

Kota Bharu is the capital and Royal City of Kelantan.

The translation of the name means 'new city' or 'new castle/fort' in Malay.

Kota Bharu is situated in the northeastern part of Malaysia and has an estimated population of 430.000 which makes it one of the largest towns on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Many travelers simply pass through, but to spend a few days in Kota Bharu gives you the chance to go to some of the museums, eat some delicious food, look at a unique style of traditional architecture, and get a little bit of the feel of a city that has an interesting cultural identity all its own.
